I am Antonia, I am married, I take care of ten people from my family and I live in Chinchero, Cusco. My business consists of the production of sheep wool fabrics. I follow ancient methods and techniques, from the treatment of sheepskins and wool to washing, warping, spinning, dyeing, and weaving. I use completely natural and non-polluting products.
It would not have been possible to develop my own company, Artesanías Andina, without the microcredits that I have been obtaining from the microfinance institution EDPYME, partly financed by the Foundation.
Now I can support my family with the income of the business, where my husband and children work, as well as some women from the community. Girls and other women who I teach the different techniques also attend, and they can participate in the production and commercialisation process of these products in a gallery that I have installed inside my home.
