Bancho Abdo

I live in Gara Kume, in the Mendida area. Before, I had to supply my family with water in a nearby stream. We used it both for drinking and for household needs. In the arid period of winter the river dried up completely and, during the summer and because of the floods, the waters came down full of garbage and mud.

Now, with the construction of the new well, we can drink clean water and get much less sick. With the stream water, we always had stomach problems, so we had to go to the nearest health centre, an hour away.

Thanks to the well, we no longer have to go to the doctor as much or buy medicine. We will open an account in the bank where we will deposit what we save by not having to purchase medicines.
