Social Issue

The Ivory Coast Human Development Index stands at 0.49, being one of the countries with the lowest value in the world and ranking 170th out of 189 states. Most of the population does not have access to credit (only between 12% and 15% of the Ivorian population manage to obtain formal credit financing services).

Our Response

PAMF reaches out to marginalised and low-income people in isolated areas and is the largest international institution operating in the country.

PAMF was created in 2008 by the Aga Khan Agency for Microfinance (AKAM), a Swiss non-profit foundation that leads all microfinance initiatives of the Aga Khan Development Network (AKDN), a development agency that aims to provide permanent solutions to reduce poverty in the most disadvantaged areas of Africa, Asia, and the Middle East.

Expected Social Impact

With this investment of the Netri Foundation, it is estimated that PAMF will be able to provide 900 microloans, with the idea of empowering rural communities in the Ivory Coast.
