Social Issue

The Ivory Coast Human Development Index stands at 0.474, one of the lowest in the world. Although this figure has slightly improved in recent years, the country remains one of the poorest of the African continent. This situation, largely related to the political instability of the last five years, means that only between 12 and 15% of the Ivorian population have access to traditional forms of credit financing.

Our Response

MicroCred Cote d’Ivoire S.A. (MCCI) is an entity belonging to the MicroCred Group that offers credit and savings products, and prepaid cards and microcredits for micro, small and medium-sized companies in the urban areas of Ivory Coast.

MCCI wants to contribute to the creation of jobs and to improve the quality of life of the employers and workers of the Ivory Coast who receive these loans. Furthermore, through economic revitalisation, it seeks to improve the country’s cities and their financial structures.

Expected Social Impact

With this investment of the Netri Foundation, it is estimated that MicroCred will be able to provide 340 microloans with the aim of supporting MSMEs to develop.
