Social Issue

Honduras is a country with a lower middle income level and facing great challenges with more than 50% of the population living in poverty (according to official data from 2011). In rural areas, approximately one in five Hondurans lives in extreme poverty, or on less than $ 1.90 a day.

Our Response

Established in Seguatepeque, the microfinance company COMIXMUL began its activities in 1986 with a loan project to 12 women and it has become an important cooperative that operates through nine delegations.

Expected Social Impact

With this investment of the Netri Foundation, it is estimated that Comixmul will be able to provide 640 microloans in the country to help empower Honduran communities in job creation.
