Social Issue

Nicaragua is a relatively stable country in an area, Central America, which records high rates of violence, much greater than those of other areas of the world. Furthermore, in recent times, Central America has become a corridor for those who flee to the United States. It is for this reason that economic development of the country is essential to reduce violence and unwanted emigration in the area.

Our Response

FAMA is a non-bank financial institution that started its operations regulated as a financial institute in 2007. Its main activity is to offer loans to Nicaraguan micro-entrepreneurs and to provide training programmes for its clients in the country. Women are the main recipients of its services, representing 73% of its total clients.
