Social Issue

Despite the sustained economic growth that Tajikistan has experienced in recent years, the country remains one of the poorest in the world, representing a serious problem for the majority of its population. Poverty reduction is, therefore, one of the country’s priorities.

Our Response

Microloans are a powerful tool to promote small-scale productive activity.

JOVID is a small microfinance entity located in northern Tajikistan. Its clients are basically microentrepreneurs in rural areas, of which 40% are women. In fact, more than 70% of its clients carry out activities related to agriculture or livestock.

It is a small loan that we hope to increase in the future.

Expected Social Impact

With this investment of the Netri Foundation, it is estimated that JOVID will be able to provide 105 microloans to help empower rural communities in northern Tajikistan.
