In our village, Mai Sheka Adhana, we had a pond with standing water, green in color, and it smelled really bad. It was full of leeches that hooked on cattle throats when they drank, and even once the same thing happened to a child. We had to make small holes near the pond to avoid having to drink from that water, but it was still very unpleasant.
Thanks to the project we were able to build a new well in our town. It is a relief to be able to have drinking water in the town and we no longer have to spend half a day to fetch water.
Now I have much more time to take care of my parents. Although the best of all is that we will no longer have to drink dirty and stagnant water. I am very happy and the water that we now have, besides being very clean, tastes so good!
