My parents died of AIDS and my brother is studying at an institute outside the village, so during the term I have to live alone at home, in Kabugondo, Kamonyi district. As my parents died of tuberculosis, the rest of my family believes that I am also ill and they have stigmatised me, they do not want to see me or take care of me.

Thanks to the radio I am very happy because it allows me to be informed of what is happening in my country. I listen to the programmes that I like, like Urunara, the radio soap operas, and the news. The radio cheers me up a lot, especially at night when I am alone at home.

I now receive visits from friends of the same age who come to listen to it with me. I wouldn’t sell it for anything in the world, it’s as if I had my older brother always with me accompanying me at night.
