Social Issue

In 1978 the Vicente Ferrer Foundation started its educational programme to raise awareness among the population of India about the importance of schooling. The biggest problem the Foundation encountered was the difficulty of children from the poorest communities to adapt to the school system. Furthermore, youth and infants from the lowest castes lack the resources to be able to learn in suitable conditions. Lack of books, places to study, or money for college tuition are just some of the many obstacles they run into.

Our Response

The project consists in the construction of a complementary school in the town of Dasaripalli, Gudibanda area, in the Madakasira region, in Anhdra Pradesh.

A complementary school is one in which the government’s academic plan is taught as reinforcement. This support is necessary so that students from the most disadvantaged communities can continue their studies in public primary schools. In this way, they can later move to, also public, boarding schools of secondary education.

Expected Social Impact

It is expected to benefit 27 students and the rest of the town’s inhabitants.
