Social Issue

An estimated 1.2 billion people worldwide do not have access to electricity. Of these, 95% live in sub-Saharan Africa and Southeast Asia. The vast majority depend on kerosene, candles, and batteries for lighting and charging appliances and electrical appliances. These energy sources are expensive and unhealthy. It is estimated that more than four million people die each year from diseases related to the use of fossil fuels used in lighting and cooking. It is also estimated that families can save about $ 60 a year if they use solar energy instead of kerosene. The reduction in the costs of photovoltaic technology in recent years has led to the development of many products designed to serve these communities.
